Q & A: How can I get Shaktipat Diksha from Siddha Guru?

I want to get Shaktipat initiation from an Able Siddha Guru. How can I get started in this process? Do they initiate anyone who is interested in getting initiated or do they have some criteria to initiate someone?

Fearing that they won't initiate me, I am hesitating to contact the Siddha Guru.

Can you give me some advice?

Thank you.

Following Page on my site will help you in your search for an able Shaktipat Guru.
Shaktipat Gurus: Siddha Gurus to Awaken Kundalini Shakti

Every Guru has a different approach towards “ability” of the seeker before offering Shaktipat Deeksha (or any Deeksha for that matter). For example my Great Grand Guru PP Shree Loknath Tirth Swami Maharaj (Birth: 1892 - Samadhi: 1955) gave Deeksha to very selective seekers. He had extremely higher qualifying bar before he gave Shaktipat to seekers. Fortunately most of the Gurus listed on the page above are relatively more open towards offering Shaktipat (as far as I know.)

In my view, your willingness to connect to Divine is the only qualification you need to get initiated. In addition to this some Gurus may have certain restrictions after they initiate you, especially related to diet. The restrictions will mostly apply to adopting “Vegetarian” diet for rest of the life. The Guru may also expect the Siddha Yoga practitioner (initiated) to refrain from certain food items like Onion, Garlic etc. Other than that I do not know of any other requirements or restrictions for practitioners of Siddha Yoga. Obviously living a virtuous life is the basic requirement for follower of any Yoga (that goes without telling.)

Here is one suggestion (which obviously will also be offered by the Shaktipat Guru.) Most important thing after Shaktipat Deeksha is to do daily Sadhana (Meditation) of at least 30 to 45 minutes. As long as you are doing Sadhana, your spiritual progress will continue. Whether you notice it or not, rest assured Kundalini will do her job within your subtle bodies - Astral (Linga Sharir) and Causal (Karana Sharir) - which is the primary area of spiritual development.

Hope this helps.

Thank you.

Q & A: How can I get Shaktipat Diksha from Siddha Guru? Topics: Kundalini and Shaktipat initiation

Yoga is an exact science. It aims at the harmonious development of body, mind and soul. Everyone should follow one Yoga as their primary Yoga (based on their character). Then we must combine Karma Yoga, Hatha Yoga, Raja Yoga, Bhakti Yoga and Gyan Yoga. This “Yoga Synthesis” will lead one to the God.
