Happiness is our nature. It is not wrong to desire it. What is wrong is seeking it outside when it is inside - Ramana Maharshi

Connecticut Massacre, Delhi Rape - "I Want Peace"

Date Sent: December 20, 2012

Several years I used to write on social issues, but I never had answers,.....which I finally found in spirituality (at least at my personal level)
--------------

This happens when people have guns:
America is a society brimming over with violence
(Visit - http://www.counterpunch.org/2012/12/17/behind-the-connecticut-massacre/)

This happens when people don't have guns:
Rapes happen in India, because we are a callous nation of Proud Indians
(Visit - http://www.rediff.com/news/column/rapes-happen-in-india-because-we-are-a-callous-nation/20121218.htm)

Reality is - It is not about Guns, it is about lost prosperity and mismatching "Wants" and "Morality". People and societies have lost their moral compass. It is all about when “I want” grows beyond one’s control. For hundreds of years the West had prosperity. Things have changed now. The sun is setting on the West. Unless a new industrial revolution takes place or an invention like internet happens in America - things will go down rapidly. Be prepared for the worst periods ahead (Globally).

World is not going to end on 21st. Nothing will change after 21st. But the social degradation (and sufferings) will continue at a faster pace in coming years. Peace and happiness will be the rarest commodities of the future. Good people (those who do not hurt others) will be forced to carry burden of extreme Anxiety. Peace will be lost in the Jurassic park.

Here is a story about “I Want Peace”

A billionaire American went to India in search of Yogis to achieve peace and happiness. He went to visit Shri Ramana Maharshi. Our friend was impressed with the silent Yogi (Ramana rarely talked those days). He wanted to ask a question. One of the followers said – “Please write your question on this plate” and gave him a slate and chalk.

Billionaire wrote “I Want Peace” and gave the slate to Shri Ramana.

Shri Ramana read it, removed “I” from it and returned it to our friend.

He was confused, he said "Yes please, Want peace” and gave it back to Shri Ramana.

This time Shri Ramana removed “want” from it and returned it again.

Our friend could not understand its meaning, he so asked the follower about it.

The follower explained: “What Shri Ramana is trying to tell you is - The Peace is already there. If you remove “I” and “Want” what will revel is “Peace”.

In simple words “Ego (I)" and "Desires (Want)" are the cause of miseries - for individuals and the societies. Everyone gets what they "Want". If one runs after "Perishable" they get "Perishable", if one run after "Eternal" they will get "Eternal".

Connecticut Massacre, Delhi Rape - "I Want Peace" Topics: Vedanta, Vedic Ideology

Yoga is an exact science. It aims at the harmonious development of body, mind and soul. Everyone should follow one Yoga as their primary Yoga (based on their character). Then we must combine Karma Yoga, Hatha Yoga, Raja Yoga, Bhakti Yoga and Gyan Yoga. This “Yoga Synthesis” will lead one to the God.
