Happiness is our nature. It is not wrong to desire it. What is wrong is seeking it outside when it is inside - Ramana Maharshi

Q & A: Ideology of Karma: Does Burning of karma lead to Moksha?

About the ideology of Karma - How good a karma is good enough to completely burn and attain Moksha? Who is keeping the accounts, Who is the bean counter? If the sole purpose of life is to burn Karmas then why God took pains in making us born in the very beginning without any trace of Karma?

Krishnakantam (Name changed), USA

You are free to not to believe in Karma and/or rebirth. If you can accept life as and accident and God's free will without any logic (to punish someone and rewards others at his happy will) everything is fine at your individual level.

It is perfectly okay if someone does not believe in Law of Karma or direct relation between karma fruits and rebirth. Everything is fine as long as you get logical (or illogical) answers to events that happen in your life (and others). The problem arises when people start asking “why do I not get (or get) what other have (or don’t have). There is also an issue of illogical explanations of some religions when they claim that God’s Will is random and your life is at the mercy of God’s random will. That is simply not true.

The God that I have seen is neither blind not whimsical. God is perfectly fair and his system is far much superior than just a “blind will” as some people assign it to be. Every one gets “EXACTLY” what they deserve (consequences of what they created.) God neither punishes nor does he reward anyone. Salvation will arrive only when you raise yourself above the system laid down by the God. He is neither blind not his system is unfair.

God’s System (Cosmic Law of Karma) Works: Perfectly, Applying to everyone, All the times, Without fail, No exceptions!!!

Law of Gravity applies to everyone exactly the same…whether they believe in Law of Gravity or not. The result of the Law of Gravity will vary for two people depending on their karma – one dies, another one may live – its their Karma – not God’s Random Will – I am sorry – that is how it is – whether you accept it or not.
Here is how the Karmic account is maintained if you wish to study it seriously.

Hope this helps.

Thank you.

Q & A: Ideology of Karma: Does Burning of karma lead to Moksha? Topics: Karma and Vedic Philosophy, Ideology

Yoga is an exact science. It aims at the harmonious development of body, mind and soul. Everyone should follow one Yoga as their primary Yoga (based on their character). Then we must combine Karma Yoga, Hatha Yoga, Raja Yoga, Bhakti Yoga and Gyan Yoga. This “Yoga Synthesis” will lead one to the God.
